End of Abyss map and backtracking: choose the next return
Choose one blocked route and its exact requirement before backtracking. A new key, an Explosive Charge and a power connection unlock different paths.
- Scan a blocked routeKeep its sector and floor
- Record the requirementMatch your next key or tool
- Choose the returnRevisit that specific gate
Sort the obstruction before picking the route
The Scanner supplies the requirement and can mark a return target. If dying during node destruction left a door blocked, run the energy-door diagnosis before treating it as an ordinary missing-tool route.
| Blocked path | Return condition | Avoid this mistake |
|---|---|---|
| Named key / keycard door | You own the named access item. | Returning with a new weapon instead of the key. |
| Explosive wall | You have the necessary explosive equipment. | Wasting normal ammunition on scenery. |
| Powered door | You can trace and destroy its linked energy nodes. | Assuming every door has three nodes. |
| Interrupted node sequence | Your installed game includes the door-fix patch. | Deleting the save before trying the fix. |
Map coverage and map icons are different checks
Exploration fills in the map, and map stations provide coverage too. For Master Explorer, the goal is every room. A filled-looking sector or a remembered walkthrough path is not a substitute for checking the rooms you have actually entered.
The patch fixes a missing room and some doors appearing reset after restarting. It does not promise that every blank area or confusing floor is a bug. First separate unexplored space, missing map-station coverage and a wrong door icon.
Write the dependency while it is fresh
The return notebook keeps this list on your device and lets you mark a destination complete. It is a player-written reminder, not a game-save scanner. If you are hunting a missing gun, cross-check the six-weapon lookup before setting off.
- Save the sector and floor where you encountered the blocked route.
- Record the exact key, tool or connection from the scan.
- Write the next objective in your own words before you close the game.
- When you acquire something new, choose a matching note rather than touring every sector again.
Finish one kind of cleanup at a time
Rooms, shuttle stations, equipment upgrades and the four Logbook categories are different completion tasks. The achievement tracker separates them so one unexplored passage does not turn into a vague search for everything.
A return run can still cost ammunition and expendable kits. Review death and supplies before using the nearest pod as a free reset. Opening a shortcut and preserving a crafted-ammo reserve solve different problems.
